Jenny Sleath returns to a Dog Mentor School!

🐾 Back with Jasper and Rufus at The Beacon Academy! 🧡

Jenny Sleath spent a fantastic day at The Beacon Academy today, revisiting two very familiar Dog Mentors — the lovely Jasper and Rufus.

Jenny Duckworth originally trained these wonderful Cockapoos around four years ago with their owner and Headteacher Claire Chandler so it was brilliant for Jenny Sleath to return and see how their Dog Mentor journey has developed.

Today Jenny worked with Jasper and Rufus alongside three new Dog Professionals — Emily, Natalie and Lyndsay. The new team really embraced the training and were already getting creative about how they can build on the fantastic work Jasper and Rufus are doing across the school.

Jenny also had the pleasure of meeting two Year 2 classes, working with the children on their own regulation techniques and helping them understand how these connect with the dogs.

One of the loveliest parts of our work is returning to schools several years later and seeing how their programmes have grown and evolved. We can’t wait to see where the next stage of Jasper and Rufus’s journey takes them! 🧡🧡
