🐾 Day Three at Heronsbridge – Fully Embedded and Fully Inspiring 🐾

Today marked Jenny Sleath’s final day at Heronsbridge Special School in Wales, and what an amazing way to wrap up the week.

Charlie, the ever-reliable Labrador Dog Mentor, kicked things off with a calming meet and greet before leading interventions with pupils Poppy, Addie, Tyler and Junior — all of whom clearly benefit from his steady presence.

Meanwhile, Bernie the greyhound had a full-on curriculum day, taking part in art, music, and reading sessions. The highlight? A beautiful music moment with pupil Lennon, who clearly shares something special with Bernie.

Heronsbridge truly is an incredible school. They’ve gone beyond just welcoming dogs — they’ve fully embedded their Dog Mentors into the curriculum, making them a daily, meaningful part of school life. It’s inspiring to see what’s possible when a school puts emotional wellbeing and animal-assisted support at the heart of everything.
